Many people struggle to find their true identity. For Kara, abuse and abandonment made her feel like an orphan her entire life. For Japanese-born Atsuko, it was her faith in Christ that made her feel like an outsider in her own culture. Discover how God gave each of these women stability and hope even when it seemed like their troubles would never end.
We would like to thank Northwest Fellowship in Austin, Texas, for partnering with us on this week’s story.

Thank you for this moving and powerful testimony (I heard all of Kara’s story) shared to bring hope and shine light on the pain & suffering believers are going thru, but our God is the Hound of Heaven, always reaching & sticking closer than a brother, He is there when we are broken and ready for His transforming power, and how He used believers to infuse the Word of God so the Spirit of God can perform wonders and we can humble ourselves and turn from ourselves & trust in faith for His help. He is never early, never late, always on time. His time. Anyone know of some great uplifting adventure stories or websites that would be appropriate for an 8 year old boy? I had to turn this audio story off as the themes were too much for him in my opinion….(suidice, etc) Thanks for any leads……

Hi Jeff!
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to Atsuko’s and Kara’s stories. It’s our hope that the accounts shared on the program are an encouragement and draw people closer to Jesus. Thanks, too, for letting us know your concern regarding some of the content not being age-appropriate for your son. I apologize that we did not alert folks about the topic beforehand as we have in past programs containing highly-sensitive material.
We’ll be in contact with you directly with some suggestions pertaining to your request for materials. Thanks again for listening and for taking the time to encourage us!

Thank you to Atsuko and Kara for sharing their powerful story. I really admired Kara for continue to move forward even after the tragic situation concerning the family when she was younger and then the loss of her Mother, Brother, and then Husband (all by suicide). It didn’t seem like GOD was anywhere to be found, but He had informed her He was there and he was providing her concern through her troubled period, and providing her the strength she needed to move on and to continue being a light for Him. I cannot even imagine what she was going through and the pain she felt, but I am glad her and Atsuko had shared their testimonies to us and I pray that they both go in the direction that God provides and obtain the reward He has for them.
