Dear Susan,
I am reading for the second time your book “When Life Takes What Matters”. Life definitely took what matters from my husband and I this year in May. Our tall, oh so handsome and funny, only child was senselessly murdered at only 18 years old just after he completed his junior year of high school. The shock, horror, anger, and most of all unbearable pain has haunted us ever since. When the joy of my life died, so did my faith in God’s love for me. But I continue to cry out to Him and try to find Christian books that can help me with this relentless agony. Last Sunday I found your book in our church library. In it I have found just the very faintest glimmers of hope that God sees my tears and anguish. My disappointment in Him prevents me saying that I think He cares. But I keep reading. I wanted you to know. Thank you for writing it.
Robert’s mom,
Cindy
