Where do you turn when you’ve been knocked down so many times you don’t think you can possibly get back up again? Pam describes how she finally surrendered, then found herself lifted up in a way she never thought possible.

Thank you for this presentation. I’m so often amazed at how the Father reveals Himself. This story is so close to where our families lives are at the present time. Through a behavior of my husband I have felt stripped and gutted, broken and crushed. Like Pam, I did not want or need to drag him through the mud. Yet I also needed for him to leave our home. I also am a leader in women’s ministry and in Celebrate Recovery. The pain and grief was unbelievable, yet God in his mercy, never left or forsook me, a promise that I received as a young child. Unlike Pam’s story our body came around us. Being able to talk with a couple ladies in honesty and confidentiality has been priceless. When men would ask where my husband was, I could say “he could use your prayers” and to some, “give him a call”. God has worked in this messy situation and yes, there is still lots of pain.
As a young women in my 30’s, I dealt with a health issue and God gave to me, “you will bear fruit in your old age”. He has graciously blessed me with bearing fruit from generation to generation. At 70, this promise has been high lighted again, OK, I now am in the “sort of old age” part of life. The realization of He’s not finished with me yet, is humbling and refreshing. In Celebrate Recovery, I am often reminded that God never wastes our hurt. He has brought women that are broken and in pain to me. His Word is my reference, my song. God is our refuge and strength AND underneath are His everlasting arms. Praise the Lord the King of glory!!!

Thanks for sharing the power of God and the truth about how situations can cause separations in families and churches.
I myself feel trapped, isolated, trying to keep everything looking nice but it isn’t. My children and I are hurting. I am caring for my ex who is ill. It rips my heart to go home and share a small apartment, day in and day out. I feel it is the right thing to do but the cost is heavy.
I will focus on the scriptures you shared to help get me and my children through this period.
God bless you and the work you are doing.
